This short film is a "fly on the wall" look at the making of ACE funded arts residency "In-Between Spaces". Set in the context of a dis-used department store, now community arts space in Great Yarmouth, in late spring 2021 during the easing of lockdown restrictions, Magic Acorns took over the space to create an immersive child-led experience for one family bubble at a time. Exploring movement, sound play, light and shadow and drawing on wordless approaches with children 0-3 years old and their families. Each In-Between Space was a co-creation between the space, the artists and the families, brought to life through creative collaboration with the families and the very young children. The open-ended, improvisatory approach centred the processes of being and allowed for each family bubble to create their own unique response to the space.
Film produced by Lewis Wickwar.
