Licensed to be creative?

Our next Acorn Network is coming up on November 8th and it is going to be a special one!

Hosted by University Centre West Anglia and The College of West Anglia we are going to be exploring the importance of nurturing our own sense of creativity so that we can support children's creativity through our work.

You might be an early years educator, cultural professional, or a freelance artist or musician, whatever your background or perspective, we all draw on our own creativity in our work with young children. We will be coming together at this Acorn Network to ask ourselves how do we look after our own creativity? Do we give ourselves permission to be creative? How do we give ourselves a licence to be creative?

The session will be held at College of West Anglia campus and will be hosted by Kathryn Le Serve from CWA and Sophie Fox from Magic Acorns. There will be presentations, activities and time for discussion and networking with a cuppa.

Dr. Jessica Pitt will be sharing her thinking around creativity in early years , and there will be the opportunity to take part in a workshop from early years arts specialist Abby Page.

Magic Acorns regularly hosts networking events with the goal of building a community of practice around early years arts in the East of England, nationally and internationally. It is funded by Festival Bridge. Our aim is to bring artists, educators and cultural organisations together to share presentations, workshops and discussions. Working with organisations, Magic Acorns facilitates and curates meetings to exchange knowledge and skills and forge connections.

University Centre West Anglia is a partnership between the College of West Anglia and Anglia Ruskin University, offering degrees and other higher education programmes. They offer a range of FdA/FdSc Foundation and BA/BSc Honours degrees, degree and higher apprenticeships and HNC Higher National Certificates in subjects ranging from Childhood Studies and Early Years to Engineering, Bioscience to Business Management, Computing to Construction and much more.
